“The National Coalition Against Censorship (NCAC), founded in 1974, is an alliance of 50 national non-profit organizations, including literary, artistic, religious, educational, professional, labor, and civil liberties groups. United by a conviction that freedom of thought, inquiry, and expression is a fundamental human right and essential to a healthy democracy, we work to educate our own members and the public at large about the dangers of censorship and how to oppose them.
NCAC:
• Educates the public and policy makers about threats to free expression,
• Mobilizes them to take action to oppose censorship, and assist in those efforts,
• Facilitates communications between local activists and national organizations,
• Devises new educational, advocacy, and media strategies to create a more hospitable environment for free speech and artistic freedom.”

We want to help raise money for the NCAC because we believe that the preservation of ideas is of utmost importance. It is essential that we ensure that people can continue to learn from expressions of religious, political, artistic and intellectual freedom, not only to preserve our democracy here, but also to preserve humanity as a whole.

We solemnly believe that the preservation of the free movement of ideas protected by the First Amendment is a cause worthy of your and our own collective support. We hope that you will take the time to consider the negative implications that censorship can have on our society, and that you too will see the merit in supporting the NCAC in their resistance to that censorship.
