Here you can find out a bit more about the two of us.

Matthew Lang Sottile:

Born in 1988, I grew up in New Hartford, Connecticut, where I  still reside. In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, writing, and reading dystopian fiction.

I’ve been riding bicycles since I was very young. I took a more vested interest in mountain biking at about nine years old.  Now I have been riding road bikes for several years and loving every second of it.

One day I would like to kayak the the Mediterranean Sea and do a bicycle tour of South America.

For this trip I will be riding a 2000 Specialized Crossroads A1 Sport equipped with a Shimano Dura-Ace 7803 groupset and camping in an Exped Andromeda II tent. For more detailed bicycle/camping information, visit the Gear page.

Dawson Burke:

I am 21 years old, and I am proudly from Norfolk, CT. I work for a family business in Norfolk doing architectural mill work. I am just your average 21 year old kid: I spend most of my time outside of work just hanging around.

My folks are really into cycling so I guess I got roped into it through them. My life goals are just to see and experience a little bit of everything.

I think this is one of the greatest ways for someone to see their country. I plan on doing the Mt. Washington climb in August and this is a wonderful way to train for it.

For the trip I will be riding a Circle A Cycles touring bicycle that I had them build for me. Circle A Cycles is a small Providence, RI company that specializes in custom steel bicycle frames.  Be sure to check them out.
